The Muse

This 7x7 oil painting "the Muse,"depicts a moment when I was explaining to my daughter the unusual aspect of this particular exhibition/installation. The ceramic artist created several vessels, different shapes and different sizes. She placed a ballon inside each and blew it up. The vessels, with the inflated balloons inside, were then suspended from the ceiling. As time elapsed the balloons deflated, the vessels moved slowly down the body of the balloons until they fail to the ground and broke, each in it's own time. It made for a very interesting concept, art is forever changing and needn't be permanent. It is a part of the series I am doing on people doing everyday things.
